Portia’s passion for the arts and sports started as a child, She gravitated to the arts by using writing as an outlet to navigate through young adulthood. In 2016, Portia began to Charlie’s House Foundation for Arts & Sports, formally known as OneLoveher Inc. The name Onelove-Her has been used since 2013 as a moniker for Portia while writing and reciting poetry. OneLoveher means to love yourself first, your beliefs, your rights, and your culture. The name Charlie’s House Foundation for Arts and Sports is an ode to her late father, an athlete and her art teacher, both of them inspired her to create outlets for the community members to express themselves. Portia is rooted in purpose, art, and believes in the power of rewriting your story, which led her to create Loveher, a brand founded to promote self-love, high self-esteem, and women's rights through wearable art.
In February 2023, Portia released a collection of poetry book titled “ P is for Poetry,” in which she shares her life experiences from 2013 to the present. Hoping to inspire and encourage African American writers with the hope of helping them share their life stories. “Sharing our stories helps heal us “ -PWooten.
